ANNIE LEIBOVITZ


Arguably the most famous portrait photographer working today, Leibovitz has photographed many world's major icons, often in elaborative and imaginative set-ups.  

When Leibovitz returned to the US in 1970, she breakout in her career as a staff photographer, working for just launched Rolling Stone Magazine and in 1973, publisher JannWenner named Leibovitz chief photographer of Rolling Stone, a job which she would hold for 10 years.

Richard Avedon's portraits were a big part of Annie's inspirations and it's a powerful example of her life as a photographer.

As shown below, she did a photography themed project which is inspired by Disney movies.
The most famous work of hers is probaby the potrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in which Lennon is lying naked next to Ono and hugged her.
